Eat Local Week
Our inaugural Eat Local Week has been a highlight of the year for us. Our chicken was a feature on the menu at:
Thank You We would also like to extend a special thanks to all of you who have supported Ayton Farm. In our efforts to build a viable enterprise that observes holistic, ethical & regenerative farming practices we have faced many challenges and also reaped many benefits. It's important to us that our family, friends and customers know where our food comes from, and what happens to it before it arrives on the plate. We believe strongly in our organic fed, non-GMO and chemical free methods to raise pastured chickens and eggs. Our website has more information about the health benefits at http://www.aytonfarm.com.au/health-benefits.html. Buying Clubs/Drop-off Points While we have owned the farm over 9 years we have only been operational in Eggs and Meat Chickens since September of 2015, and for our farm to continue we need to expand our reach to more customers interested in organic, non-chemical, pastured/free range chicken and eggs. During Eat Local Week we were asked many times by customers where they could buy our produce. Currently it is available (full details on http://www.aytonfarm.com.au/order-form.html):
One idea that fits well with our local values and focus is to organise buying groups within the areas where most enquiry has come from, eg Boonah, Beaudesert, Ashgrove, the Bayside and northern suburbs of Brisbane. We would love to hear from anybody interested in buying chicken or eggs if a drop-off/meeting point was available in any of those areas. We currently travel weekly between Rathdowney and Chelmer in Brisbane, so drop-off points close to the routes through Boonah and Beaudesert should be easy to organise. For anybody willing to organise a buyer's group or be the drop-off point for our produce in their area, we would be happy reward your loyalty. You might enjoy a private farm tour, free meals and accommodation in one of our cabins, some free produce, or a credit on your order. Please contact Kathy on 0414 821700 or [email protected]. With your help and support we would like to achieve a lot of things including taking a role in educating children on production of healthy food, and showing the following generations that small farms conducted in this manner can be viable and produce food with the best health benefits. Ayton Farm Shop Our Farm Shop is reopening on 9 July. The Farm Shop is held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the second and fourth Sundays each month.
